The AI Daily: OpenAI has just launched Codex, a cloud-based software engineering agent that can handle multiple coding tasks at the same time. It’s now available to ChatGPT Pro, Enterprise, and Team users. Support for Plus and Edu users is coming soon.

Key notes:

  • Codex can build features, fix bugs, answer questions about your code, and create pull requests.

  • Each task runs in a separate cloud space already set up with your code.

  • It powered by codex-1, a special version of OpenAI’s o3 model designed for coding.

  • The AI was trained using real-world coding examples and reinforcement learning.

  • Users can try it for free for a few weeks before OpenAI introduces pricing.

Why it matters: Codex shows how AI coding tools are becoming more powerful. Instead of just giving suggestions, Codex can now take on full tasks by itself. This could change how developers work—letting them focus on bigger ideas while Codex handles routine coding in the background.

The AI Daily: NVIDIA dominated COMPUTEX 2025 with six big announcements, showing how it’s pushing AI forward across everything—from personal computers to quantum supercomputers.

Key notes:

  • NVIDIA, Foxconn, and the Taiwan government will build an AI factory in Taiwan to support major tech like robotics, healthcare, and smart cities.

  • NVLink Fusion is a new chip that helps tech giants build bigger, faster AI computers.

  • DGX Spark (coming in July from Acer, ASUS, Dell, and more) and DGX Station (coming later) bring powerful AI tools to personal computers.

  • RTX PRO Servers and NVIDIA’s Enterprise AI Factory make it easier for companies to upgrade to AI-powered systems.

  • Isaac GR00T N1.5, a new model, improves robot reasoning, while GR00T-Dreams helps robots learn motion using AI.

  • ABCI-Q, the world’s largest quantum AI supercomputer, was launched with AIST using over 2,000 NVIDIA H100 chips to boost progress in health, energy, and more.

Why it matters: NVIDIA is leading the way in AI by covering all levels of computing. Whether it’s a home computer or a huge supercomputer, NVIDIA is building tools to power the next wave of AI. These new systems will speed up how industries use AI and help NVIDIA stay ahead in the fast-growing tech world.

AI RESEARCH

The AI Daily: Google researchers just announced LightLab, a new AI tool that lets users change lighting in images with high accuracy. With LightLab, you can turn lights on or off, change their color, or adjust how bright they are — all after the photo is taken.

Key notes:

  • Uses a special AI model to control light in a single photo.

  • Lets you do things like switch lights off, change brightness, and add color.

  • Automatically adds realistic shadows and reflections.

  • Trained on both real and computer-made pictures.

  • You can apply several lighting changes to the same image.

Why it matters: Normally, once a photo is taken, you can’t change the lighting. LightLab gives photographers a “second chance” to fix or improve the mood of their photos later. It shows how AI is making it easier to blend real photos with tools that used to be only possible in 3D editing or animation.
